Great Transcontinental Road Trip - Photos

These are photos that I took during my road trip across North America in June of 2004. This page shows thumbnails with captions. You can click on the thumbnail to get the full size image. Note that all timestamps on the images are in Mountain Daylight Time.

There are two major groups of photos. The first is batched in subgroups in the order they were taken. The other group is simply a collection of photos taken along the road on the way back to Calgary. This group is also in chronological order.

The Trip

Weather Anyone?

These photos were taken between Lethbridge and Coutts and show the weather that was brewing at the time.

These photos were taken from a historical point of interest just east of Shelby. They also show the weather that was hanging around the area at the time.

These were taken in the from a rest area near Culbertson in the morning after a big storm passed by.

And these were taken at Lake Pleasant during a rest break. You can see how the weather has cleared by this time.

These photos are the view from the hotel I stayed at in Fargo.

These are a view of the landscpe between the western border of Maine and Farmington.

The motel I stayed at in Farmington.

Some photos from the beach at Lincolnville after leaving Farmington.

Photos from the the Penobscot Crossing.

These photos were taken at Wood Island on Prince Edward Island.

These are from the area on either end of the Confederation Bridge.

No trip is complete without taking a picture of something goofball like the world's largest axe in Nackawic, New Brunswick.

Photos of Edmunston from the vantage offered by the Comfort Inn there.

Somewhere between Sault Ste. Marie and Thunder Bay, there is the yellow brick road. As proof I offer the following photographs.

I didn't quite make it to Thunder Bay before I decided I needed good sleep so I stayed in the Sunset Motel in Schreiber, Ontario. Some photographs of the area.

For lack of anything better to do, I took photographs of the sign marking the transition to the Arctic watershed.

The Road

These photographs are all photos taken of the road or while travelling down the road starting in Quebec. These are all grouped here on account of they're rather boring. They do give a feel for the road, though. So have at it.
